Find an Egg Donor

RFC works with reputable egg donor agencies and we have exclusive access to an affiliated, anonymous egg donor program. Our patients are welcome to choose any donor from any agency and our coordinator will take care of the rest.

Our egg donors come from diverse ethnicities. Current donor pool includes candidates who are: Caucasian, European, Swedish, Irish, Russian, British, Italian, Armenian, South American, Indian, African American, Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Vietnamese, and Cantonese.

Anonymous Egg Donor Program

Our standard egg donor program is anonymous, meaning you will not be provided with identifying information about the donor, nor will the donor be provided with identifying information about you. Donor profiles consist of childhood pictures of the donor, other pictures the donor may feel comfortable sharing, the donor’s health history and family history. Prior to donation, the donor will be subject to a psychological screening, consultation with a psychologist and a signed legal contract that lays out both the donor and recipient rights and responsibilities.

Known Egg Donor Program

You may be interested in working with a “known” egg donor, which means the donor is someone you know or have met, such as a family member or a friend. In these instances, it is also important to make sure the legal contract and any psychological evaluation requirements are met, to ensure that the rights of the recipient and the donor are protected. Our center is happy to work with any reputable egg donor agencies you may have found. In addition, our patients may also choose to work with our exclusively affiliated egg donor agency, which provides our patients the benefits of having an extensive donor pool, customized search services, online access of profiles at home, guarantee programs, and personalized services, all at a substantial savings compared to using a non-affiliated agency. Scheduling a consultation with our donor agency is free and you do not have to pay any fees to access our donor or surrogate base. Identification verification is required to protect our program participants’ privacy.

Asian Egg Donor Program

RFC has an exclusive and extensive Asian Egg Donor Programs consisting of the following ethnicities: Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Indian, and Taiwanese. No wait, convenient and affordable for out-of-town recipients. The majority of our donors are local, so the recipient couple will not have to pay any travel expenses or lost wages for the donor. Egg donors are healthy and caring young women between the ages of 19 and 30 years old. They lead healthy lifestyles and their families are free of any genetic disorders. Although there is a financial benefit in egg donation, we seek candidates who care strongly about helping others in creating a family. We find our donors to be altruistic women who receive great personal satisfaction from giving this remarkable gift. Egg donors come from a wide range of ethnic and social backgrounds. Many are juggling responsibilities from work, school, family, and other aspects of their lives. We understand their time is valuable so we make every effort to make the process as convenient and as easy as possible. We may be reached at any one of our multiple locations throughout Southern California. Many of our past donors have voluntarily referred their friends based on their own positive and rewarding experience.

Egg Donation Process

Egg donation takes 2-3 months to complete. Egg donors will need to do pre-cycle screening, psychological evaluation, and legal contract before proceeding to medical procedures.

Medical Screening

Detailed medical screening is required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), it may involve testing the donor’s partner (if any) and may require more than one set of blood work. The medical screening has to be done at an FDA-approved laboratory. The extensive requirements are in place to protect the recipients of the donor egg.

Genetic Counseling and Testing

At minimum, donors are tested for common genetic disorders and a determination will be made if any additional genetic screening is recommended.

Psychological Screening

A psychologist is available to provide psychological screening for the donor. The screening is helpful in preparing the donor mentally for the procedure and assist in her understanding of the process. The donor will understand if she is ready and committed to undergoing the IVF cycle as a voluntary participant.

Although California is one of the best States for egg donation and surrogacy in the United States, reproductive law is still considered an unsettled area of law. Therefore, we require every egg donation case have a legal contract in place to protect the privacy, rights and responsibilities of both the donor and the recipient. Our patients have expressed that they feel having the legal contract in place prior to donation is a great investment, and it has provided them peace of mind for the future.

Success Rate

Due to our high pregnancy success rates, our affiliated agency is also able to offer peace of mind programs such as the Pregnancy Guarantee Program, Free Re-match Program, Customized Search Program and Discount Programs. These programs offer free re-match if your donor becomes disqualified or if a pregnancy is not achieved with the chosen donor.

The agency also has vetted donors with previous successful donations and pre-approved donors who have successfully completed testing for potential disqualifying factors.

Egg Donation FAQ

You’re going to use an egg donor to have a baby. Most likely it wasn’t an easy decision, and now you’re anxious to get started. The team at Reproductive Fertility Center in Southern California has more than 18 years of experience working with intended parents through its extensive anonymous egg donation program. Dr. James Lin, the founder of Reproductive Fertility Center, offers information on choosing a fertility clinic for egg donation.

Q: As a patient using donor eggs, what should I look for in a fertility clinic?

A: You should feel comfortable communicating with the doctor and staff of the fertility clinic. Egg donation is a complicated process, and you want to work with a team that will address your concerns or issues, including any feelings you may be experiencing. One important consideration is whether the clinic is willing to screen your potential donor before you start the cycle. For example, once a patient has chosen a donor, our affiliated egg donor agency sends the donors to us to be screened. The affiliated agency is willing to send the donor to be evaluated without charging the patient the agency fee.

Also, I would also look at how many egg donor cycles the fertility clinic does a year, what the pregnancy rates are, and whether or not they offer a refund plan option if no pregnancy is achieved. Lastly, don’t hesitate to find out if the clinic has the capability to freeze the embryos or eggs for future use.

Q: What are the benefits of using a fertility clinic that has its own donor agency?

A: Not all clinics will evaluate the donor before you are matched. It is so much more reassuring if the clinic is already familiar with the egg donor or has already approved the donor based on her assessment and medical history.

Another benefit to using a fertility clinic with a donor agency is what’s mentioned in the previous question: our affiliated agency sends the potential donor to the clinic for evaluation without the recipient having to pay the full agency fee. The recipient only has to pay the medical cost and any travel costs. The recipient will pay the agency fee to confirm a match only when the donor has been approved. Having a dedicated team for your case is also important. Egg donation is a complicated process and involves a lot of communication between patient, clinic, agency, donor, and other professionals such as a psychologist and attorneys. If the agency and the clinic has been working closely, it can provide the intended parents a smoother and easier experience.

Q: Why do patients travel from out of state or out of country to use donor eggs?

A: From what patients have shared with us, it is often more important to them to find the right egg donor and clinic than it is for the donor to be geographically convenient for them. It’s also essential to find a clinic that is the right fit for them than it is to use a clinic closer to their home because the recipient simply awaits the embryo transfer. Once the egg donation process is complete, the impact is lifelong; it makes sense for patients to choose the right egg donor and the right clinic, above other considerations.

Q: Can I find a donor of specific Asian ethnicity? How do I get started?

A: Yes, absolutely, but Asian donors can be hard to find unfortunately due to many reasons, including cultural. However, at Reproductive Fertility Center, we have been working with an exclusive Asian egg donor pool for 10 years. Our donors are of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Indian, and Taiwanese ethnicity. Within the past 10 years we have developed many relationships, received many word-of-mouth referrals and we find that those are the best donors.

It also helps that Dr. Lin, a Southern California native, speaks fluent Mandarin.
